Spectre Shells

(we now sow) Spectre Shells is an artwork by Rachel Honnery created from repurposed plastic materials and hand-crocheted plastic bags. The work functions as an allegory for the accelerating loss of marine life and the pervasive impact of plastic pollution within ocean ecosystems. Through the transformation of discarded domestic waste into fragile shell-like forms, the artwork reflects on the tension between beauty and environmental destruction.

This work was exhibited as a finalist at 2021 Northern Beaches Art Prize Manly, NSW
