Erased Replaced Displaced

Erased Replaced Displaced was a sole exhibition in 2021 at Airspace Projects, NSW. The work was created during the 2018 Arctic Circle Residency and afterwards.

Synthetic nature everywhere, a phony plastic wasteland mocking my contentment.

No more ice,
but a counterfeit Disney like replacement.
A replica designed to recalibrate our consciousness.

Will we remember the cold?
Will we remember the bears?
Will we remember the cries of the tern?
Will we notice the absence of the whales and the seals?
Will we know the roar of the glacier as it births?
Will we forget the beauty of this place?

Muted greys, whites and turquoise displaced, replaced, erased.
